Whats the best way to paint pink insulation foam?

Im trying to make something out of that pink insulation foam. I carved the pieces from it, and used wood putty to fill in the cracks and really rough places.

the problem is, when i try to paint it yellow like i want, the wood putty takes the color differently than the foam, so it looks…..odd.

also, i can’t use a glaze in place of the putty because it dissolves the foam and looks terrible. how am i going to do this?
by the way, i’ve used the putty and painted it already, so is there a way to FIX what i’ve done so far? thanks for the few answers so far
only halfway done on the pieces, though, so i can still change my ways

How do we remove spray foam adhesive/insulation from outside our camper?

We purchased a camper recently and the previous owners attached a screenhouse and "sealed" the cracks with a spray foam polyeurathane insulation / foam. It turned colored. We removed the screen house and peeled off , to the best we could, the insulation foam from the spray can…however, sticky residue and hardened foam is stuck to the outside of our travel trailer. Any product that may remove it? Really hate the thought of sanding it off and then repainting a 3 year old travel trailer!!!

Should I use siding with foam insulation attached to the siding or use separate insulation or use both.?

I wanted longer than 5 inch siding and the contractor found 8 inch with foam attached to the back of the siding and he says it saves a step by not having to put insulation. THe siding with the foam doesn’t seem as thick as the big pink rolls I see but I honestly don’t know a thing about insulation or siding so should I use a regular siding with reg insulation or use just the siding with the foam attachment or use both? Thanks!

I want to insulate my metal A/C ducts with spray foam insulation. Is this a good idea?

The ducts are located in an unfinished attic. I found a couple of do it yourself spray foam kits that look like they may work but I haven’t been able to find any articles or info on such a project. Is this something that is done or am I way off base. Also, can you recommend any specific spray foam insulation products for this job? Thanks.

how to secure ridgid foam insulation to the wall.?

Stupid question I know but I forgot to ask my father (hes a contractor). We are installing ridgid foam insulation to the underside of our Attic rafters to insulate our attic room and allow air flow in the remaining spaces. What would be the recommended way to install it?

Is filling holes in my car doors with Foam Insulation dangerous?

I was recently told by an auto supply dealership that I could use the foam insulation to cover the holes at the bottom of my doors in my 92 Acclaim but after reading the foam instructions it said that not to put near heat, therefore, I am worried about other problems with using this product. I do need a cheap way to hide the rust and holes at the bottom of the doors so any
other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Polystyrene or injected foam insulation: which one is better?

I’m replacing my wood garage door (which is attached to my home) with a steel door (because it’s cheaper), but I don’t know which insulation to use. Home Depot offers the board insulation and another company is offering the injected foam insulation. Which one should I use.

Can very brief asbestos exposures cause cancer?

I think that I might have inadvertently exposed myself to asbestos. What happened is that I was going to put in some ceiling hooks which required drilling a small hole in the ceiling. In order to make sure that I wasn’t getting close to any electrical wiring I proceeded to look up into the unfinished attic. Upon lifting the small cover that allows access to the space, I discovered a mid to dark gray fluffy insulation that was underneath the blown in fiberglass insulation. At this point, I backed away and did not proceed to crawl around in the attic, however, this stuff (it MIGHT be rockwool, not for sure though) was all around thecover so I know that I definitely stirred it up. If it helps, my apartment was built between 1968 through 1974. I’ve told some people about this and they tell me that they highly doubt that loose fill asbestos was used. What do you guys think or know?
