I put foam insulation in the cracks around my windows a few months ago,but what’s a way that I can get it off without damaging my windows? I peeled some of the foam bubble that formed but there’s still residue left on the window.

We have a two-story, 2,000sqf home, 1950′s, and judging by the draft coming through all of the electrical outlets, door jams, corner cracks, etc, I don’t think there’s any insulation left in it. I know how to take care of the outlets, but I’ve heard about the foam being blown in by a contractor. How many holes do they have to put in the wall to do that? What would prevent that foam from coming through cracks and into the house? Any idea on cost? Is this something that one can do-it-yourself?
Im trying to make something out of that pink insulation foam. I carved the pieces from it, and used wood putty to fill in the cracks and really rough places.
the problem is, when i try to paint it yellow like i want, the wood putty takes the color differently than the foam, so it looks…..odd.
also, i can’t use a glaze in place of the putty because it dissolves the foam and looks terrible. how am i going to do this?
by the way, i’ve used the putty and painted it already, so is there a way to FIX what i’ve done so far? thanks for the few answers so far
only halfway done on the pieces, though, so i can still change my ways
We purchased a camper recently and the previous owners attached a screenhouse and "sealed" the cracks with a spray foam polyeurathane insulation / foam. It turned colored. We removed the screen house and peeled off , to the best we could, the insulation foam from the spray can…however, sticky residue and hardened foam is stuck to the outside of our travel trailer. Any product that may remove it? Really hate the thought of sanding it off and then repainting a 3 year old travel trailer!!!
